Snails and almond trees

The wheather was very hot and dry last summer on Dugi otok.Here are photos of some kind of invasion of snails on almond trees hibernating and waiting for the rain.

Wow.. this is quite surprising.. they must be receiving some kind of nourishment from the bark.. I wonder if this is the north side of the tree? shadier and moister!!

We have snails that look like this and Max finds them very often in the apple trees.
